Now for the cultured show... Let us present to you the poet, Stephen Murphy
Stephen Murphy is widely regarded as one of Ireland's leading poets, and A Misty Morning is his most ambitious and accomplished work to date. Described as 'A cross between At Swim Two Birds by Flann O'Brien and George Orwell's Animal Farm' by the philosopher Michael Quirke, it's an epic poem that takes the form of a one-man play, chronicling the mad-cap conversations between animals waking up on an otherwise quiet farm.
It takes a deep dive into ancient esoteric knowledge through the occult and the mythological via the beautiful and the bizarre, with no shortage of comedy, warmth, wit and wisdom along the way. Previous performances have seen it described as "Profound", "Incredible" and "A masterpiece for the ages", though Stephen himself describes it as "Ultimately a love poem masquerading as madness."
