Dún Laoghaire Comedy Festival — 5 Years of Great Jokes & Salt Air

Dún Laoghaire Comedy Festival, sponsored by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, returns this November for its fifth year — bigger and better than ever.

What started in 2022 with 4 venues, 15 comedians and a borrowed mic stand has grown into one of Ireland's most distinctive comedy festivals, bringing together 14 venues, dozens of comedians and seven days of stand-up, storytelling, live shows and very questionable decisions.

Five years on, the festival is still built around the same simple idea: put brilliant comedians into great rooms, fill those rooms with people who want to laugh, and let Dún Laoghaire do the rest.

There are no corporate sponsor stages. No endless industry panels. No giant arenas where you need binoculars to see the comedian.

Instead, the festival takes over the town — from intimate comedy rooms to some of Dún Laoghaire's best-known venues — creating a week where you can see a huge name one night, discover your new favourite comedian the next, and still be by the sea two minutes later.

The festival has always been about more than just comedy. It's about Dún Laoghaire: the harbour, the pubs, the restaurants, the people, the atmosphere and that particular feeling you get when a town comes alive for a weekend.

And somehow, after five years, we're still best mates.

Five years. 14 venues. Seven days. A lot of comedians. An unreasonable number of bad jokes.

Come for the comedy. Stay for the town.

Dún Laoghaire Comedy Festival — November 2026. See you in November.
